Hi
Just wondering if like me any one has had a test for digestive health. My results shows deficiencies for 5 amino acids 2 fatty acids and the mineral potassium
Which amino acids?
Normally it's only infants that are tested for amino acids.
Hi fbirder
These are the ones in my report. I will say it’s a private test

Amino Acid Deficiencies (generic) (37) L-Carnitine (NA)
Amino Acid Deficiencies (generic) (57) Proline (NA)
Amino Acid Deficiencies (generic) (84) Tryptophan
Fatty Acid Deficiencies (generic) (69)

Fatty Acid Deficiencies (generic)Omega 3 (NA)
Mineral Deficiencies (generic) (58) Potassium (NA)
To me your post is fascinating. I haven't had any tests for them but, by trial and error, I have discovered that I must have an issue with amino acids as I must have pork protein pretty much every day and fish every 2 or 3 days to keep my B12 working. These supply a range of amino acids that other protein sources don't and therefore I have deduced that this is a problem for me.
Has anyone suggested a solution to you?
No, have not had a test but took Lysine as I read it was helpful for cold sores and felt an overall improvement, which I wasn't expecting so doubt it was placebo effect.
Thank you for your help Eaoz.
I confess it was something I discovered when I was still too ill at the time to work it all out. I like lots of the vegetarian options that should supply all of the essential ones as well as eating a varied diet so I can't explain it but then again I eat a vitamin and mineral rich diet and still need to supplement those too so something isn't right!
