B12 deficiency

Hi all looking for some advice and feedback on this b12 deficiency. 2 months ago i was diagnosed with b12 deficiency, pernacious anemia, gastritis, low kidney function, you name it. I cant absorb b12, so am now on life long treatment due another injection in 8 days after having 6 of the loading dose 2 months ago. After the 4th injection. The feeling was almost euthoric, i felt great. My concern is my legs, i can only describe it as my lead legs, complete fatigue & pain that comes & goes. It literally feels like my legs cant carry me, i do care work, so am on my feet a great deal of the time. But on sitting my legs are actually throbbing, its enough to be bothering me.....can anyone tell me if they are affected the same way. Thanks

Hi Jo-jo47 It is also important that your Folate level is monitored as this is essential to process the B12.

There is a complex interaction between folic acid, vitamin B12 and iron. A deficiency of one may be "masked" by excess of another so the three must always be in balance.

Symptoms of a folate deficiency can include:

symptoms related to anaemia

reduced sense of taste

diarrhoea

numbness and tingling in the feet and hands

muscle weakness

depression

Folic acid works closely with vitamin B12 in making red blood cells and helps iron function properly in the body.

I'm not a medically trained person so don't know whether this is related to your throbbing legs but it would be good to get it tested just in case.

Hi thanks for replying, i forgot to mention the folate im currently taking folic acid tablets too. Am suffering symptoms of my gastritis, needing my next b12 shot too, i think, have been quite rough last 2 days, not ill just not feeling myself. Am curious to see if i pick up again after the injection next week....hope so & thank you
