Lp-Plac test

Hi, I've been having Lp-Plac tests for 3 years with borderline results. However this year the unit of measurement have changed making it difficult to compare this years results with last. Does anyone know the correlation between nmol/min/ml and U/L? Many thanks.

Have you posted to the correct forum?

Hp-pla2 testing hasn't anyone int much to do with PA, so I doubt me at here will know much about it.

As for difference in units - anybody's guess.

nmol/min/ml are sensible units for describing the activity of an enzyme. 1 nmol/min/ml means that a 1 ml solution of the sample will convert 1 nmol of substrate each minute. Because it's sensible I'm going to guess these are the new units.

But biologists, especially in the past, found sensible units to difficult - so they invented the U (for Unit) which varies according to strange mystical rules that nobody can understand.
