I get them mostly at night, but I'm not sure whether that's because I am lying there and my mind is not busy that I'm more aware of them. If I manage to get a nap in the afternoon (much needed, but doesn't always happen!) I get them on rousing especially in my face and legs.

Getting them right now, Shirley7144 , sitting in the library at the computer.
Feet and shins always get very tingly, but I had very thorough electric nerve testing done last week -and there is no damage there, or in hands. I feel like I'm sitting right on my bones and leaning forward -so tingles could be something to do with the osteoporosis recently found in my spine and/or lumbar vertebrae & disc problems found last year (MRI scan).
pins&needles is a very common symptom, so worth checking. I guess it is a bit like having mild tinnitus: you don't notice it till all is quiet and then you can't stop noticing it and it keeps you awake.
By the way, tinnitus and osteoporosis can also be symptoms. Tinnitus is on a lot of the symptom lists and osteoporosis is mentioned in a 2014 paper on B12 Deficiency by Guy's and St Thomas' consultants.
