Does anyone know the difference between methyl folate and folinic acid? I have been si 1mg methylcobalamin for 6 weeks every other day. Also taking 1600 mcg of methyl folate. I still had daily migraine headaches until I added 800 mcg of folinic acid. Now my migraines are gone!

And, just for the people who panic about cyanide from cyanocobalamin and methanol from aspartame - the aldehyde is the main ingredient in embalming fluid!

Thank you fbirder! From what I'm reading Folinic Acid is associated with DNA production. Methylfolate is associated with methylation. I had daily migraine for many years. They did not stop with B12 injections and methylfolate. My migraines stopped on the first day with 800mcg of folinic acid. I don't know, but so glad to get rid of them!!!

Thank you Eaoz! My Folate is now >24.0. I was taking a multivitamin but recently switched to a b complex w/o folate and am feeling better with this as well. More energy, better mood. I have trouble sleeping on the days I si so I'm thinking of reducing b12 to every 3rd day.
