Your HbA1c is a little high. This is a measure of your blood glucose over the last few weeks. A high value is a very good indication of diabetes. Your value is just a little high, so the doctor will probably advise you to lose some weight, change your diet and exercise more. Then come back for a re-test in 6 months or so.

Edit: Just read the earlier post. Didn't realise it was your son. That may well change things.

its actually my 12 year old, and yea we have been trying to lose weight for a while, he doesnt eat any sugar, and exercises over an hour a day in addition to the normal stuff 12 year olds do, recess, p.e. etc but to no avail. :-(

Yes, I realised it was your son too late.

The weight problem could be a thyroid thing. But I don't know much about that - best to ask in the TUK forum.
