Hi tjmom82.
Haemaglobin Alc1 is a screening test fo diabetis and pre-diabetis. At 5.9 the result is a little high and would be inline with the slightly raised HbAlc in one of,your other posted results. However, this test is not usually recommended for diagnosing children - your doctor will read it against other tests uneaten.
Insulin Growth Factor 1 (IGF1) - test used to diagnose growth hormone deficiency and evaluate pituitary function - in normal range. Interestingly, I note that the thyroid results are out of reference range (think you're posting them on thyroid UK for interpretation) - thyroid disorders can cause symptoms similar to growth hormone deficency.
Not much good at thyroid results but it does look your concerns about growth issues may have their roots in thyroid issues, rather than actual growth hormone deficiencies.
So, referral to endocrinology is the right place to be going to.
Vitamin D coild do with being a tad higher, though not actually deficient - but please don't add any extra supplements u till after you've been through all the testing processes 😀.
Sorry, can't actually read what the last test on the page is - but I can see that it's in range (whatever it is).
Hope this helps and good luck with the referral 👍
Just got a call from childrens hospital and they want to see him tomorrow morning at 830am so we shall see! Also, didn't even realize I was posting in the UK! LOL! we're in the US so I imagine our metrics may be different!
Hi tjmom82. Metrics might be different but you posted the reference ranges so accurate interpretations possible with what you've given.
We have quite a few members from the USA here - and we all help each other, so pop in when you need to - always folks around if and when needed.
Good news about the hospital - very quick off the mark - well done USA 👍
Very best of luck to you all - please let us know how it goes 👍
