Looking for advice on auto injectors...only found 1 from Union Medico that is around $100 US. Taking Cyanocobalamin shots every other day so any advice on one that is cheaper would be very appreciated.

Auto injectors
I do remember seeing posts on auto-injectors quite recently
healthunlocked.com/pasoc/po...
but looks like the same one you are looking at and about the same price
there is also this post from a year ago

and this from 3 years ago
healthunlocked.com/pasoc/po... - which is looking at an insulin injector - which might be another avenue to explore.
Hi, BigCatFreak , Gambit62 it was me who put a post asking for advice on auto -injectors. I have gone ahead and bought it, it is the one you are looking at from union medico, I am still fighting with my surgery for more regular injections and trying to get over my needle phobia to actually use it, so no real comment on actually using it yet..... I am terrified and also once I go down that road it is final, I have given up on Dr's etc. It comes with 10 needles and syringes to get you started and it is a one-off expense, the syringes seem to be normal ones so don't need to buy from them, they are hideously expensive and you could access your local needle exchange and register that you are taking B12, if we all did that it would really highlight the problem with under-treatment.
Thanks for the replies Gambit62 & Galadriel1 ! I don't know of a needle exchange here in the U.S. but I get my "extra" B-12 from vitaminb12direct.com. They have what I'm use to using...10 ml vials and injection kits that include 23g needles (although I prefer 25g) & alcohol swabs. It's a one stop shop! Ive not used ampoules so breaking glass over something I'm injecting scares me a little. I may have to just bite the bullet & get that auto injector from union medico as I do feel it would help the process. Galadriel1 please post something when you get a chance to use it. Thanks & have a great day! 😸
Sorry, I thought cyanocobalamin was to be avoided in preference to either methylcobalamin or hydroxy cobalamin?
Maybe in the UK...I'm in the US & cyanocobalamin is the norm. I have no experience with the other 2 so when I decided to do extra shots above my prescription I stuck with what I know. Other than the other 2 work better & stay in your system longer...is there some other reason I should avoid cyanocobalamin?
Sorry, I thought cyanocobalamin was to be avoided in preference to either methylcobalamin or hydroxy cobalamin?
Nope, there's no good reason why it should be avoided. Some people mistakenly believe that the cyanide moiety, which is released during activation, is harmful. But the amount of cyanide from 1000 ug of cyanocobalamin is about the same as in 10 ml of prune juice or the smoke from 1/5 of a cigarette.
The only people who need avoid it are those with Leber's Optic Neuropathy - a genetic disease (caused by a mutation in the mitochondrial DNA). It affects about 1 in 40,000 - most of them young males. These people should also avoid alcohol and smoking.
Thanks for the comments! I'm quite comfortable with Cyanocobalamin so I will stick with that for now.
