B12 injectables

Can anyone pm me with the details on where to purchase B12 for injection, please? I'd be ever so grateful - the GP route is proving to be long and turgid process! (What's new?)

I get mine from Germany - Versand Apothek. They have a partially English website - versandapo.de/article/searc...

Check what sort you're ordering. TrinkAmpullen are for drinking. They also do cyanocobalamin as well as hydroxocobalamin - most people prefer the latter.

This is the stuff I get - versandapo.de/article/searc...

Are these only with a prescription?

Of course not. Many of us here buy from Germany without a prescription. You can even get it from amazon.de (which is where I used to get mine).

Any contrary statement is pure FUD.

Please Sir , what is FUD . I can only guess the first one lol . Pp

I only know of one meaning of fud, and I wouldn't expect it to be used on here! :D

I'll bet your guess is wrong!

It's - Fear Uncertainty Doubt

Meaningless, irrelevant, over-the-top or, often, just plain wrong statements designed to provoke anxiety in the reader.

One common example often seen here on the PAS forum is the statement - 'Don't take cyanocobalamin because it releases cyanide'. Now the statement is true, but irrelevant. The amount of cyanide released is about the same as in an apple.

Unfortunately a lot of FUD is designed to seem to be correct - especially if posted in an area where, due to no fault of their own, people might well not be able to tell that it's wrong or irrelevant.

Thank goodness my guess was wrong!!!

Oh, and thanks for clearing that up. No pun intended on the original meaning ... oh dear. Getting in a fankle!

Schenks - presume you are mainly based in TUK - please note that PAS doesn't have restrictions on providing details of medications - mainly because it is a vitamin with no known downside/risk of overdosing.

Aha! You're presumption is correct. Thank you for setting me straight.

Hi Schenks, nice to see you over here. :-)

I bought 100 ampoules of 1500 mcg/ml hydroxocobalamin (Pascoe brand) through an Amazon.de marketplace pharmacy, Petersberg Apotheke. They arrived within a week, sensibly packaged.

If you don't read German (I can, but it's pretty rusty), I'm told Amazon has its own translation function, though I'm not sure how to activate it. Perhaps if you went through Google, it might be easier.

xx

I've just had another look at Amazon.de. Next to the 'Hallo! Anmelden mein Konto' button is a little one labelled DE. Click the down arrow on it and you can choose your language in the box titled Spracheinstellungen.

I've recently switched to Chrome as my browser. The inbuilt translation facility is pretty darn good.

Amazon.de are now testing/using a beta site in English. I found it on Google.
