Hi
I don't know if this is related to b12 but injections are making no difference. My jaw is painful and I can not open my mouth very wide. Started about two weeks ago. Painful to eat and brush teeth or even to drink from a glass.
Any advice?

Are you using methyl still? some people genuinely find that methyl does nothing for them. Does hydroxo when you have maintenance doses have an effect?
The problem could be muscle weakness in the jaw. I know I used to occasionally have problems with opening up the jaw.
I'd recommend speaking to your doctor - or possibly dentist about it as it could be something unrelated to B12. There are exercises that you can do to strengthen the jaw muscles if that is the issue.
No I haven't but will start one today. Thank you
I was diagnosed with a jaw condition, can't remember the name but ended up seeing specialist and getting physic exercises for it. Found it improved greatly when my B12 levels were high so there is some more NHS resources wasted due to lack of understanding of B12 def.
It is a long trawl isn't it! How are your other vitamin levels? I have recently started taking a really good multivitamin and I must admit I feel a lot better. I have also found improvements when I have made diet changes. Stomach issues are part of my symptoms so I have cut out many FODMAPs which affect digestion and also went on a Candida-free diet (sugar, yeast etc). It was a bit tough but felt a huge amount better and stronger. Also found out that wheat doesn't agree with me even though it doesn't give me digestive issues - it is a weird illness isn't it.
Hi,
I've experienced the same problem. It comes and goes.
My doctor diagnosed it to be 'trigeminal neuralgia'. B12 shortage can cause lots of nerve problems.
Since I am Dutch speaking, I've searched a link for you in English.
