Are you in the UK?

Have you contacted the PAS? They are helpful and sympathetic. If you leave a message they will get back to you.

As far as I know, there are no doctors, private or otherwise specialising in P.A. in the U.K. You can see a G.P. privately at any Nuffield hospital (about £90 and about 3/4 hour consultation. He or she would probably want to do a blood test(about £70) I have no idea how much it would cost to have injections there. Why not D.I.Y ? that is the cheapest way. If you decide on that, come back here, and we will tell you how. There is no danger of over-supplementing. Some clinics in London charge about £250 !!!! I consuted an haematologist privately(£160,and he hadnn't a clue about P.A. . You would be amazed at the general ignorance about P.A. That's why Martyn Hooper founded the P.A.Society. He has done us all a wonderful service!

I wasted a lot of money seeing a haematologist privately. I was not warned that the fact I was already supplementing with B12 could affect the results of (expensive) blood tests. The person I saw had little interest in my symptoms and did not seem aware of recent documents.

What I am trying to say is that private isn't necessarily better.

Some people try B12 infusions.

I thnk that we visited the same haematologist! . Mine was worse than hopeless, and told me that he wasn't interested in Pernicious Anaemia!(well only if he could make £160 easily)
