MRI Scan with Contrast side effects?

I have had my appointment for another MRI scan but this time with the contrast injection

Does anyone know what the side effects might be?

I always have a reaction to inoculations so am not looking forward to this one

Hi. It would depend on what type contrast agent they are using? Also then check it is not something you have had a reaction to before.

I had an allergic reaction to iodine based contrast on a CT scan. I came up in angry looking hives and they wouldn't let me leave the hospital until they'd administered antihistimine and kept me in for a couple of hours whilst they monitored it. They warned me that each time the reaction becomes more serious so to be careful if needing it in future.

I had an MRI this summer and before I let them inject with dye I told them about the CT experience and they said it's okay because it's a different type of agent they used. They were right I did not have a reaction.
