I am seeing a haematologist on Friday, and this may sound a bit of a daft question, but here goes, once he has taken my blood, will it be tested at the hospital while I am still there or will I have to wait, if I have to wait what is the length of time on average will the results take to come through?

Gosh, my last experience was in 2006, bloods were taken in hospital and results took a few days, were sent to GP, if I remember rightly, could be very different for you though. Wishing you good luck with your apointment! Marre.
Leanneta has just confirmed that the results were available when she saw the haemotologist, so here's hoping it's the same for me, I'm just fed up of waiting for appointments and results all the time. Let's hope he sorts me out.
Thank you for the information. I have been self medicating with supplements which seem to help. I tried to stop taking them just over a week ago, but couldn't cope, and I just wanted to speak to him and show him the supplements without having to go away and wait for the test results. I do hope he can help (or WILL help) as I am at my wits end.
