If you do we could be twins! I am having my annual MOT for PWP next week and will be speaking to a speech therapist. I, in my past life pre PD was used to public speaking but I do not anymore as I get tongue tied. Memory? What was I saying? Joking apart my memory is getting worse. Goes with the territory as I was dx'd nearly 14 years ago. It just creeps up on you this bloody syndrome, like a rash. Also I am a trained typist and that is getting awful. It is all about lack of muscle control because Mr Parky interferes when you least expect it. The other problem is if you change your meds or up the ones you are on then side effects could come into play. I am struggling to type at the moment so I will close. I do not give in though. The day you do you are up the creek. So smile, tell everyone you are fine and give an invisible 2 finger salute to Mr Parky

Sorry I forgot! Memory loss could lead to dementia (can't remember if I spelt it correctly!). I do not want to frighten you but it is essential to use the grey matter every day to stop the cobwebs dulling your memory banks.

\Hi Drew I was dx 12 years ago, and it does get worse, almost every day!! i've been on just carbadopa/ levadopa for the last two years but my doc rs dont want to change it !!1 dont know why!!what do you think?i'm afraid of side effects, since ive had plenty of those before/ i take 2pills every 3 hours.....8 times a day. That messes up my eating hours and blah blah!!

ive increased my meds and decreased them but nothing works..

One visit I have been told the stuttering and memory loss are apart of pd and another time my doc says they are not , I write everything down , I don't know what to believe anymore . I am going for a 2nd opinion. I am just hoping I get a straight answer

You are not alone here, i have the same and alot worse, keep you chin up young lady , i know its hard belive me , i had a bad stutter when i was young however during my working life i have had to adapt due to the nature of my job, i got over it but now its back , sounds just like a song title .

Just remember we are here for you at any time day or night,

Ps its 04.08 am gmt and the sleepness monster is back

I hear you. I have awakened between 3:30 - 4:00 a.m. for the last couple of weeks. Hope the cycle ends soon.

I have developed awful speech problems. I have been diagnosed with pd for 15 yrs and have probably had speech difficulties for at least half of that time, including stuttering. I sense that my diaphragm muscle has been affected and so most of the time I'm not breathing properly which affects the speech. It gets more difficult the more I try to speak. Incredibly however, I can sing with other people yet on my own, everything jumbles up and gets difficult. It has been and continues to be a great loss in my life not to be able to communicate effectively through speech....but what to do but to go on in the best way you can?

Speech therapy can help a bit. The Lee Silverman program is the best thing I have found, but it hasn't helped everythiing, particularly the stuttering. Good luck with your investigations and don't give up!

That's me - bad memory and stuttering. Very frustrating as you can se in the eyes of the listener they want to help you get the words out but don't want to insult you by helping. Drives me nuts when someone says - you're just getting old that append to me every day too. Next person who tells me that will probably get choked!

I know a good defense attorney. I want to poke a few people in the nose. Last night on the bus a senior with a neck brace punched a crabby lady in the chest. She got booed but passengers had not seen entire scene! :D

Between the tremors today and my dry eye issues and memory problems I posted my answer to the wrong question. I think of it as a tremor in my speech
