NLY01 Phase II (modified Exanatide) - Recruiting in Michigan

Apologies if posted already, but a location in Farmington Hills, Michigan, United States is now recruiting for the Phase II NLY01 trial. Could interest some people here if they are not using meds yet (looks like the usual meds would exclude one from participating) and are close to the location.

Interesting that the Exenatide Phase 3 has 200 participants, whereas the NLY01 Phase 2 has 240 participants.

The NLY01 Phase 3 (if they get there) might be quite large.

The power of pharma money. Their timelines look rather optimistic. They're expecting to recruit 240 patients who aren't using pd drugs (basically brand new diagnosed patients) and have them take the drug for 36 weeks all in the space of 16 months. I hope I'm completely wrong though :-)

I was surprised to learn (from the link) that NLY01 consists of exenatide and polyethylene glycol.

So was I. I was surprised doing something like this is commercially viable. Can they patent the resulting combination if it works?

Pharmaceuticals will find a way to patent anything! That's how they make money.
