It has alreadt been commented here on HU and in this publication :

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/245...

"Berberine prevents nigrostriatal dopaminergic neuronal loss and suppresses hippocampal apoptosis in mice with Parkinson's disease."

Does anyone really tried this - apparently well known - supplement ?

Tried Berberine for a few months in the beginning of 2018 for atrial fibrillation, based on this study hindawi.com/journals/bmri/2...

however it didn't help with A-fib and don't remember noticing any difference in PD symptoms.

Yes my husband uses it along with Allimed (garlic extract), week about with probiotics for roseacea. It seems to work quite well. He stopped for a while but it gradually came back so he is back on it and has been for about 9 months.

He uses the Thorne one and does 1 capsule 2x per day for 3 days, then 2x 2 capsules for 4 days. Then breaks for a week. This was under the advice of the naturapath.

My husband has PD , not me , but I use it for digestive issues. It acts as an antibiotic for overgrowth of bacteria in gut, which I suspect I have. It really helps. It’s good for many things!

Interesting : PD could be a gut microbiome illness according to number of recent medical publications...

Yes, I recently read an article on that. Very interesting. I make sure my husband takes a probiotic.
