Hi RoyProp, Thank you for this. Even though it's terribly misleading about the doses and the intake mode (per os, IM, sublingual), the chemistry (HCL ?) And not a word about that neurologist... what was his name again ? From somewhere in Europe maybe ?

Thanks. Interesting, but a bit strange....That was a robotic speaker, wonder why.

Lower doses recommended than Dr. Constantine prescribes.

Parkinson's disease relief:

Diagnosed 2012

My regimen:

The positives: no bradykinesia, I cut my food with a knife, no button difficulties, brush my teeth now w/o needing elect brush, more strength. Getting in and out of bed, turning over is easier. No more constipation. Parkinson's progression stopped. Suppressed all motor and non-motor symptoms...

Entering my 7th year post diagnosis and have not fallen, not once, to the surprise of my neuro. Was seeing neuro every 6th month, last visit he set app one year. He said if needed we could do some changes earlier. He said my condition can change in as little time as one week.

New schedule, now I follow this regimen:

3 x day C/L 50-200 ER : 8 am, 2 pm, 8 pm. Because it is ER, I take with or w/o food.

2 x day (8 am 2g, and 2 pm 2g) Vitacost vitamin B1 (as thiamine HCL) 500mg, easy swallow capsules

B1 Thiamine therapy reference / stop progression, suppress motor and non-motor symptoms:

(Thiamine HCL is oral substitute to injecting B1) 2 x day (morning 2g and at lunch 2g)

Doctor Costantini strategy that I find helpful "thiamine hcl stops the progression forever...".

Parky people say the first five years is your honeymoon stage with Parkinson's. After that, progression more rapid.

I have gone from slow motion to normal motor action since joining the growing number of PwP that have started B1 regimen/protocol. –

Doctor Costantini - “Why is this? Because there is no medicine or drug that is able to affect all of the organs, whereas all of the organs function thanks to Thiamine. An important detail”, adds doctor Costantini, “the Thiamine therapy brings no collateral damage with time”.

I ask because i want to relate weight to thaimine dosage, i weigh 62kg and i take b1 1.5g x 2 (3g daily) but i'm not sure if this is the optimal dose

in reply toGrumpy77

The therapeutic dose is, oral, four grams daily divided into two equal doses. A morning dose and a lunch dose. No weight taken in consideration.

Dr. Costantini treated five thousand Italians successfully without issue. Then when non-Italians came on board, they brought issues requiring a low dose approach.

Grumpy77 in reply to

This is contrary to Dr C's email to me a little less than a year ago, he specifically requested weight information as part of consideration criteria, and said i should start with 3g daily after i told him my weight

But the problem was communication ceased after this and thus i couldn't have a monitoring follow up

in reply toGrumpy77

Maybe when about two years he prescribed for me at that time he wasn't asking weight. Maybe after treating 5000 Italians with no complaints, then non-Italians entered with complaints.

I have had PD for a little more then 20 years. Do you think B 1 can still help me. I would like to give it a try.

I was going to start at 100 mg. 2X a day for a week and then go up to 200mg. 2X a day . Is that the right proto col for Dr C?

I am taking mucana with 1 half a tablet of levadopa 25.100. Along with some amino acids and vitamins , something like the Heinz Protocol. I also take 100mg @of Amana dine 2X

a day, 50 mgs of Mirapex 3x a day, Xanax .25 mg 3x a day and2 5HTP at night..

Can you take B-1 with other med's and supplements?

Where do you order your B 1 from?

Thank you in advance for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

It depends upon many factors, including your weight and the severity and duration of your symptoms. 4 grams per day works well for Roy, but it would be way too much for me. I started at 3 grams per day and gradually reduced to 1.5 grams per day. Use the search function to learn a lot more about B1, high dose thiamine dosages, Dr. Costantini, etc.
