Thiamine rash and itching

I get a rash that develops on my lower legs after a week or two from taking thiamine. It clears up after discontinuing use. This has happened3 different times so I know it from thiamine. Itches badly. I don't seem to tolerate B1. Regrettably

Blackfeather,

Here is a link to what Dr. Costantini has said about rash and HDT :

healthunlocked.com/parkinso...

Please look at questions and answers #21 and #57. In some cases he has been able to work around it, but in severe cases HDT is not an option. Apparently for some people the issue may be the fillers in the HDT and not the HDT itself.

I agree with Art, I think in some cases it might be an allergic reaction to the fillers and not the hdt.

Thanks to all for your help. The rash problem could definitely be caused by fillers and not thiamine itself. I have two brands, solgar and vitacost that I tried and both caused rash and severe itching. Both brands have Stearic acid and microcrystalline cellulose.

These major brand names are able to crush the competition with pricing by adding very cheap fillers, but unfortunately they don't care for our well being.

I tried using thiamin that not have fillers and binders, hoping I was allergic to an inactive ingredient and not the vitamin itself. The same rash in the same area occurred after a 3 or 4 days of use. No more thiamin for me.

I am allergic to all my PD meds and that is one of the symptoms on legs and arms . Take it from one who has learned it the hard way (Operations months in hospital and many other lasting problems ) It is very important that you do not allow the skin to become dry and crack or form open sores . There are nasty bacteria in your flower bed and in the vegetable garden plus the normal helpful bacteria on the outside of your skin, turns against you if it gets inside.

There are many skin creams on the market , buy about 6 different kinds , alternate and use twice a day minimum. A tiny bit of time to apply skin creams preventing a massive, life threatening, life changing bacterial infection.
