I see nothing wrong with using fruit pectin for this purpose, but I personally avoid grape juice and apple juice because these are basically pure sugar, and it appears that sugar, rather than natural fats, is the guilty party when it comes to cardiovascular disease and other ailments like type II diabetes. So for juice I use orange, but use about twice as much water as the reconstitution instructions suggest, or emergen-C, but again well diluted so one is not drinking a high concentration of sugar.

The Peoples Pharmacy seems to constantly have a new best thing, to cure some common complaint. I expect that they will now sell medicinal strength Certo.

Personaly I am finding fermented apple cider with at least 5 % alcohol to be a better all round drink . Low on sugar , high on fibre , good for what ails ya. A full body lager beer is good also and a nice tall glass of prune juice once in a while with a touch of Vodka.
