Has anyone tried opicapone with Sinemet cr. I have been told you can't take them together. As I take Sinemet cr through the day but it's not lasting very long now only about hour and a half and I wanted a way to extend it.
In fact has anyone had experience of opicapone and whether it smooths out Sinemet and madaphor to leave a fairly even day.

opicapone I believe is an against that causes faster depletion of sinemet so you would not want to use them together. Suggest you talk to your pharmacist.
Opicapone is a type of drug called a COMT inhibitor and similar to others already in use.
COMT inhibitors reduce Parkinson's symptoms by blocking an enzyme that breaks down levodopa, prolonging its effect.
However unlike other COMT inhibitors, opicapone only needs to be taken once a day and so could reduce the overall number of tablets required.
It is also smaller than other COMT inhibitors which may be beneficial for people with Parkinson's with swallowing problems.
This drug is taken with levodopa to prolong its effects. It is the same type of drug as entacapone which is one of the constituents in the combination drug Stalevo (levodopa, carbidopa & entacapone).
Yes I know that I was wanting to know why it can't be used with Sinemet cr and also I was wondering about other people's experience of. Itsfairly new so not many people will have experience of it
I know of no reason why it could not be taken with sinemet cr. I can find nowhere that says that it cannot.
