Gastritis due to c/l

Hello everyone! Has anyone had stomach issues caused by c/l?

I’m a 53 yof , diagnosed 3 yrs ago. Just tried the generic Sinemet for two months and It worked great for my movement issues but it did a number on my stomach. Tried w and w/o food, no difference. I finally figured it out and stopped. Repairing my stomach now but would like to know if there are different versions or the non generic or what should I try??? Any thoughts on this would be helpful :)

I’m trying out the Neupro patch for now, starting second week, not sure it’s doing anything yet but hopeful!!!!

Try one of the extended release versions of C/L like Sinemet CR or Rytary.

Anyone trying a dopamine agonist such as Neupro should be monitoring blood pressure for signs of OH - orthostatic hypotension = loss of BP upon standing.

Works very well for me and countless others. Exactly what does your MD say is the problem?

StudioV,

I have always had a gut problem. Most people when nervous or upset have stomach pains or 'butterflies' - I have loose bowel motions accompanied by lots of gas, very unpleasant. It has definitely got worse since PD but whether or not that is down to the drugs or the meds I cannot say. Certainly I react quickly to any change in meds or diet - perhaps because I am aware of what goes on in my body - after all I have lived in it for 69 years! Sometimes it is not the drug which is causing irritation but possibly the binding agent or the coating. So many variables.

My husband is a bee farmer so we have all the honey we could want. We do as little to the raw honey as we can to retain all the goodness. It is definitely good for stomachs, throats & certain allergies. Even better is honey infused with garlic. It sounds horrid I know but it is one of those flavours that you either love or hate like Marmite. I hate Marmite but I love garlic honey.
