The last few days have been tiring. I worked 10 hours cleaning out a old ware house last Thursday. It was 98 degrees with little or no wind. May have been at least 120 degrees in the ware house. I weighed 222 that morning and weighed 212 that night. Then on Friday i worked another 10 hours on a 5 ton truck out in sun and lost another 2 pounds. Every tine i got up Saturday and Sunday i felt light headed and dizzy. Today (Monday) i have gained back 8 of the 12 pounds and feel good. i keep forgetting i am 62 and need to slow down.

I just have to look in the mirror to remember! Though we lived through quite a big job of moving ourselves last year in the heat. I don't know how I (we) did that either! This year I don't think Id have the stamina.

Yesterday was really hot. I think we hit 107 degrees in the shade which is actually quite normal for this time of year. I had to really clean that pool so I stripped down to my swimsuit and swam from one end to the other side of the pool. The pool wasn't very refreshing and it took me at least 45 min to clean. I don't recall getting dizzy but if I remember correctly I was a bit thirsty. Bailey I feel your pain. I am 52 and wish I had your energy.

Wow at 107 degree's what was the pool water temp? The water is probably the reason you didn't get totally dehydrated. Remember when we get hot the blood is rising closer to the skin surface in our bodies attempt to cool it down. That's why we sweat and as we sweat we lose water in your case while not refreshing dehydration was minimal because of the water.

I thought here in the NE at 96 degrees and the high humidity was bad.

Actually I was trying to be funny because that is considered a cool day here. I was out mowing the lawn the next day in 113 degree heat. I was inspired by Bailey but mind you I was only inspired by one day! It is all inside now until the next monsoon. Oooooh sorry the pool temp a frosty 92 degrees. Beats shoveling snow.

That's great that you can do that kind of work load Bailey!! Maybe instead of slowing down just drink more water! That kind of weight loss and symptoms due to dehydration aren't uncommon in that kind of heat.

I was giving Bailey a rough time because in his original post he said he was 112 pounds that night. I told him I would probably be dizzy to if I lost 110 pounds in one day. Lol
