Does anyone have experience of any problems with DBS and the use of induction cookers?

I'm due to be assessed for DBS at Frenchay (Bristol UK) hospital next year - having been told I am a suitable case and have just discovered that the pacemaker-type implant may be problematic with the induction cooker we use. Has anyone got any experience with these devices?

I m not sure what an induction cooker is, I have the DBS device and you could have problems with high security areas, example a store door scanners or the airport, but the newer models of the device are made so this doesn't bother either.

The Frenchay team are wonderful and I am sure they will be able to answer all your questions.

I had dbs implanted a year ago. No problems. No regrets.

You need to check this out with your team. There are warnings out about induction cookers and pace makers and DBS is similar.

I've had my DBS system (it is a Vercise, by Boston Scientific, which I understand is not used by Frenchay/Southmead any more) since 2013, and have no problems with our induction cooker. I asked the movement disorder nurse if it might present problems and was told it might not be a god idea to roll on the cooker.
