New PEI diagnosis

Hello,

I have recently been diagnosed with moderate PEI. This explains symptoms I have been experiencing over the last few years.

I'm wondering if anyone has drawn a correlation between PEI and having bad breath? I have received an occasional comment on this unfortunate circumstance despite excellent dental hygeine.

I'm hopeful that PERT will help this issue go away. Thank you.

You are describing what is known as a condition called halitosis which is caused by many factors. Dry mouth or xerostomia which causes bad breath due to a lack of saliva production.

It actually seems that this is something rooted in the digestion system and not that, but thank you.

Hi pnash, I haven't correlated the two, but I feel it could definitely be a possibility?!! I have definitely heard of various medical problems causing bad breath. I hope the PERT will help!Dee
