Hello everybody I am new to this site and would really appreciate some advice please 🤔
My father is 90 and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer five years ago. He doesn't have a lot of bad pain and has quarterly hormone injections as treatment.
Over the last three years he has had five or six episodes where he has suddenly without much warning collapsed and briefly lost consciousness only to come round after a couple of minutes and us okay. Also on three of the occasions my dad also became incontinent as he collapsed.
Sometimes he gets a little warning and knows that If he doesn't sit down quickly it will happen again. Oddly as soon as he sits down he is fine and also this never comes on whilst he us sitting or lying down.
The first time it happened he was taken straight to hospital, was kept in for a couple of days and absolutely nothing was found wrong.
The only other health issue my dad has is high blood pressure which he's had for thirty years and takes medication for.
My query is, do you think the hormone treatment could be causing these episodes? Or can anyone think of any other explanation? Or has this happened to anyone else?
Thank you for reading.
Jane 😊
