I’m concerned I may have pancreas cancer as I have oily stools that are sometimes pale and clay like. This has been the case for a couple of years, in which i did have a CT scan on my pancreas. It came back clear so I’m wondering if this could have been missed? If it was my pancreas back then, would it have got a lot worse by now? I also have major itching all over and have done for 2 Months. On a waiting list to see specialist.
I’m sorry to anyone who has had to join this forum who have been diagnosed. You are all hero’s.

If you are worried go back to your GP, explain how frightened you are, and ask to be referred under the two week rule. Pancreatic cancer is incredibly difficult to diagnose. After months of tests, endoscopies and scans I was eventually referred to the specialist Multi Disciplinary Team for full investigation and biopsies, which came back clear. Celebrations all round. Then a follow up biopsy two months later found the cancerous cells. It was straight to surgery, and I started chemo six weeks ago. What I am saying here is even the experts have difficulty diagnosing this cancer. But the sooner you can get to them the better. Your GP must start the ball rolling. I sincerely hope your problems lie elsewhere and you are worrying needlessly.
Hi, thank you for this and sorry you are going through so much. When you say ask my Doctor to be referred under the 2 week rule, what is this and does it apply to the U.K.?
They said they think it’s my liver as I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease 2 years ago but said I wasn’t urgent as my liver function test has come back fine on 2 occasions in the last 2 weeks.
It’s only over night I’m thinking it’s ny pancreas after doing a bit more research. I know it’s rare in 40 year worlds but I have the classic symptoms with oily stools and itching being prominent.
How are you now? I do hope this post finds you well and on the road to recovery following your treatment as I'm reading this 6 months down the line. My husband is going through the same difficulty of getting a definite diagnosis. Hes had x 2 EUS and biopsies which were inconclusive the second one showing some atypical cells suggestive not diagnostic of cancer. Today is having an ERCP and further sampling to get a diagnosis. It's so worrying hope we get a answers today
Had those symptoms for over 30 years due to pancreatitis
Only discovered dysplasia after investigation bile duct blockages that wee believed to be caused by faulty gallbladder!
Had Whipple within 6 weeks only to find it was cancer. As said by others it’s incredibly hard to diagnose as other conditions can cause similar symptoms
Nothing to woryy about ive been like this since 2014 and had green, black, bright red (werent bleeding) clay, and im cancerous free. Not pleasant smelling but sooner have the stench then cancer. Easy for me to say i agree but i just get on with it keeps my appointments and as i did this week got an Ambulance to AE the flare-up was diabolical never experience such pain. My situation is worse as ive also got a nonreversible stoma which then Flares Morphine, Steriods, Fluids, Xrays, scan and here i am still around. Cant even be sick just go through the heaving process.
