Media Volunteer call-out 5th March 2013
Hello,
We are looking for people who have been through the Work Capability Assessment and had bad experiences, and who are interested in talking to the media about it.
In particular, we are looking for:
People who were wrongly put in the Work Related Activity Group because their medical evidence wasn't properly considered by the assessors
People who were treated badly by the assessors, or who feel that their assessors did not understand mental illness
People who appealed their assessment decision and who won
If you any of those issues apply to you and you're interested in talking to the media, please contact Brian Semple on brian.semple@rethink.org.
Please also note that you would need to be willing to potentially be interviewed on TV or radio about this.
Many thanks for your help.
Best wishes,
Brian

Hi
I am wondering if you could put this throughout the whole site as I know there are people in the Fibro site who have and are having problems and probably Foggy's invisible illness as well as numerous others that are reliant on disability benefits as there are a lot of sites/communities on this Health Unlocked. they will also give you other web sites that support other illnesses and to be honest the list is almost infinite with all the people helping each other as they have not been given any support otherwise, and this is just for the people who have web access, there are probably more out there who are on their own and are getting these letters and have no one to turn to. Who is helping them?
I myself have had no experience yet but are dreading it and the outcome.
Kindest regards
Terry
good point Terry, doing it now.
sandra.
I do like that song but unfortunately I just can't sing to save my life
It sounds quite good to me but when at school I was told to mime as I spoilt the sound of the singing in morning reception.
Good luck and take care
Terry
