FIBROMYALGIA.: Hi, i was wondering if anyone... - Pain Concern
FIBROMYALGIA.
Grrrr is what came to mind - GP's. I moved area and my last GP was fantastic, this new one is abysmal, I wrote them a stinking letter. I needed Orthapeadic shoes and when I asked - the GP said "I've no idea" so wrote to the senior partner, oh that's easy and referred me. Then I needed a repeat prescription - and they wouldn't prescribe it, even though the Dermatologist prescribed it and said it was safe to use for the rest of my life. So again had to write another letter, "no problem" and was prescribed it. Been waiting 82 weeks to date for my referral to Occupational Therapist. The GP and all of them at my clinic - are useless. Sorry can't help you with info for a decent GP because I just distrust their lack of knowledge or understanding. As they say we know ourselves better than they do "with limitations of course".
could i ask what surgery you were with, im with riverside atm, but looking for aa change, im sorry you were treated this way xx
When you where dignosed with fibromyalga was it through ur GP or where you sent to a specialist. If you where seen by a specialist I would call there secretary and ask them to refer you. There's no way it should take as long for Occ therapy referral.
I have fibromyalga and rhumatoid arthritis and my consultants are brilliant at Glasses southern General and the work as a team with my GP.
I'm trying to avoid the strongest pain relief as in only in my 30s and have a young lid so I so I'm trying to get a balance between being able to function and take the edge of the pain. I'm using a combo of Paracetamol tramadol and nortyptalyne and Gabapenten for nerve pain and spasms.
Sorry Glasgow southern general
Hi jen, i thought this was part of a g p practice in shropshire silly me, my rheumatoligist has retired i found out today so i will call them tomorrow find out new one, ive been through all the conbinations hence getting whjere i was , well tomorrow is another day , thanks for your replys x lorraine
I do know what you mean My doctor is fantastic and I take Oramorph on top of Zoramorph Capsules for my back hip and arthritus. I was not in a very good place and really thought I could not go on but now my medication is spot on and I know I will never work again my quality of life is so much better people can't see pain and they just will not understand what it's like being woke up every hour at night then you feel like death all day. Go back to your doctor and tell him what it is you suffer from and explain that the pain is ruining your life, if your persistant he will come around and try to sort your pain out. I don't know if you have been to one but ask him about a PAIN CLINIC in your area there you are with loads of other people in the same place as you, It is a must if you can get on one. Take Care and good luck Colboy
Hi colboy, yep i did the pain clinic, and attended 6 of the 7 days, but our pain managnet doc mr miller is against opiates and he wrote to my gp saying opiates are not for fibromyalgia, today fingers crossed i met a new gp who has said will treat me, will add more soon xxx lorrxx
hi, sorry for short reply, i was very tired last night, well after i finished my little voluntary job i walked in to a walk in clinic where u can register, thankfully i saw a lovely young doctor who listened and agreed with me at last, she says she will inform the other docs so will wait to see, my doctor said my latest gp had put a note on screen, do not give this person oramorph, well thankfully she did and now i have my life back ish , thanks for replys xlorraine xx
