is it just me or has anyone else noticed? in my w/chair in asda waiting to be served someone says excuse me are you in the queue, or sorry didn't see you there, or being totally ignored. its happened to me a few times not just in asda. get so angry sometimes. good to have a rant sometimes.

frequently. they stand in my way. I say excuse me, they look at me and carry on talking!

then I say "sorry you mustn't have heard I SAID EXCUSE ME" this usually works.

if not, I slowly head for them - they soon move!

it is good to let off steam.

I'm not in a wheelchair but try to be considerate to those who are. I have a problem with young children running around. They are never in the same place twice, trying to get out their way can unbalance me, or I turn round into what I thought was an empty space only to walk into them. Parents are less than helpful when asked to control them better as I wouldn't want to fall on one.

I'm fairly tall so I get asked alot to get things off the top shelf for people, which I don't mind. But when I ask the same shorter people to get something off the bottom shelf for me, they either think I'm taking the p***, or laugh and very few actually help. None make the association that to reach something on the bottom shelf with back pain is impossible unless you carefully get on the floor on your hands and knees, retrieve the item, and then carefully climb back up. I've done that infront of those people and the laughing soon changed into profuse apologies. Too late then though......

The other thing that annoyed me was that most supermarkets put their back pain products on the bottom shelf. I asked the shelf stacker why and the answer was usually we don't sell as many as other products and they have a placement plan to follow. Which means certain companies can call dibs on what shelves items are placed on. My leaving comment was, its a shame no-one has taken the time to read what these products are used for.

After several conversations in several supermarkets about this, ASDA now have their back pain products mid height. I have no idea if it was my discussions that made the change, or whether they are making more sales from it, I don't really care as I can now browse in peace amongst all the things that claim to help my aches and pains.

most supermarkets put budgie seed on the top shelf.

they also put larger sizes of clothes on the top racks.

I ask people for help - when on a scooter, they do; on my crutches, it's often done reluctantly.
