Swollen and painful foot

A few days ago I tried to dash to the intercom without turning the light on in the bedroom and hit my leg on something (not sure what but suspect it was the corner of my wooden bed). When I checked my leg a bit later I saw it was badly swollen where I had hit it, as it was the weekend I thought I will wait until Monday and speak to the doctor about it because my foot was also badly swollen.

I overslept and missed my opening to speak to the GP, I had a look at the NHS website and according to them because of my symptoms I should go to a&e, I immediately went into panic mode (I suffer from anxiety and depression) and just couldn't do anything. I know I should have got help straight away but struggle to make any sort of decision when I am feeling like this.

I know it is silly but because of prior commitments today which I cannot get out of I have decided to contact nhs111 in the morning for advice as the thought of waiting for hours in a&e fills me with dread.

A minor injuries unit is usually a lot easier than A&E, see if there is one near to you.
