painful hands

along with si many issues body hurting all over, groin hip pain, back etc still on pred reducing to 3 mgs started dead slow method, have osteoarthritis , hands are especially bad in morning cant taje anti inflammatory while still on pred, what is recommended for painful hands, subsides a little thru day but still there and mornings are especially painful

I also have painful arthritis in my spine ,knee and neck. I have it in my hands too. They hurt alot in the morning and ache a bit all day. I found compression gloves to sleep with and helps alot. Also I try to keep my hands open at night,not curled into a fist. Tommy Copper is one brand but there are many out there. I also have 2 trigger fingers that I have to wear soft splint to keep them from bending. They get stuck if I bend them too much or too long. I have been dealing with this for 10 years. Arthritis just keeps popping up in a new spot. Can you still wear your rings on the usual finger? That was my first sign, thicker knuckles. Lots of daily pain here, I understand how it can get to you. I can’t take anti inflammatories either.

Yes dont wear any rings anymore, have read up seems conflicting opinions on compression gloves, right now I try to put hands in hot water, slight relief, but hurt all day really , and I am a knitter, so fingers get littlevexercise that way, Ive had exrays, naturally shows arthritis

I have had arthritis in my fingers with swollen joints and can't wear rings except my wedding ring which is trapped beneath the knuckle. I went for physio in 2012 and given daily exercises which take about 5 mins every day, which I think help I was also fitted with thumb support and find Active Arthritis Gloves,cotton with stippled rubber textured palms open finger tips useful if want something lighter than the thumb supports, They cost £14.99 a pair. I take 2 paracetamol at night to stop the aching keeping me awake and extra small dose of codeine if actual pain. I find small amount of Voltarol gel 2.3% good.not the !%. Just a little dotted on as needed. Can't type for too long. Done enough now. Good Luck.
