I Am new here and suffering pain with a bulging disc. I have had one injection which did not work and am in pain at night. I am concerned about my use of pain killers. I am now going for an appointment to see an Osteopath about spinal decompression to relieve pain from bulging disc at L4/5.
Has anyone had this and has it helped?

I have chronic sciatica from bulging discs. Some years ago I was fortunate to have a series of osteopath treatment via NHS. I did at the time find it helpful. Far more useful than any physio treatments, and when I tried a chiropractor I felt she actually made things worse. An osteopath is a highly trained, qualified professional and they can be very helpful.
Keep on at your pain management team. It can take a few attempts to find the right place! I have been on a lot of pain meds in the past and feel they have little use in my fight with pain. Distraction therapy will help, listen to music at night, hot/cold packs, don't lie in your bed if you can't sleep, get up, read a book until tired and go back to bed. After my last round of injections I am off all my pain meds and feel more in control.
Hi i suffer with the same condition and have had all the steroid injections at the pain clinic and they seemed to work for few days and stopped . I have been on so many pain killers and take loads daily including pregablin naproxen zapain and even oramorph when im really bad . Nothing seems to ease my pain only take the edge of it i have a bulging disc and trapped nerve and also sciatica slipped disc and no operations have been offered to me and i also worry about the amount of medication i have to take and the horrible side affects. Hopefully when u have had your surgery you wil begin to feel better good luck x
