Hello
I am thinking of buying a Nurokor Tens machine and wondered what the general feedback is on whether they work on chronic pain or not.
I don't know if Nuroker tens is special, but in general, Tens machines are good for chronic pain.
They take a bit of practice to get the right strength and placement.
Good luck.
My sister loves her tens machine , she uses it for a painful shoulder . I don’t know what make of “ tens” she uses .
Don't spend more than you need to as they pretty much all do exactly the same thing.I bought one with two channels so I can use two or four pads. It's a rechargeable digital one the size of a credit card so I can put it in my pocket while out and no one knows. So I'd look at the practicality of it rather than the price. The more you pay doesn't make it any better than cheaper versions 👍
I wondered about them and googled for info. Says one type works better than other, but not everyone convinced they work.In my case a physio said she thought might make the inflammation worse on the painful site, so I didn't go ahead. Disappointing!
Yes - my friend just sent me a link about Keto weight loss pills endorsed by Dragons Den, but I got scammed by an earlier product and only got my money back by threatening to write to the Daily Mail! I'm very sceptical about any claims to help anything nowadays. ☹️
I was recommended the one from Lloyd’s pharmacy by my pain specialist who said it was one of the cheapest on the market but they pretty much all do the same thing so he endorsed that one. It works well. But be aware tens machines work quite well but only for as long as you have it on the pain area, you can walk around with it though.
I don't have total faith in tens machines, although a few say they help. My friend tried and said didn't help her at all.
Tens can be helpful, but all things used improperly can harm or have no benefit. I thought my TENS useless until physio/physical therapist demonstrated exact positioning of pads and settings for my chronic pain trouble areas. Voila! Hint, full strength was not always best and pads placed above trigger or injury points. Get pro advice about use!
I’ve used tens machines for years and they work well. If you go online & type for instance - Cervical Radiculopathy tens pads placement, look at the images and place pads where it’s indicated to do so. If you buy a Med Fit tens machine from Amazon/EBay and go to their stores, each tens has a booklet with pads/electrode placement included. I always buy one with a ‘C’ continuous setting for treatment rather than 30 mins or an hour, I wear/use mine all night & would wake up earlier in pain if the machine was in a timed programme. A physio can give you more specific settings for your condition/s too with regards to pulse rate & pulse width settings which are often more suitable than the standard programmes. Spending £20 - £25 will allow you to purchase one adequate for most people’s needs. Being able to use 4 pads rather than 2 is obviously more beneficial for larger areas, your back for instance. Remember NOT to drive with one on in case the pads come away from contacting with your skin and a tens- related sudden jolt may make you lose concentration & goodness knows what could happen then!
Regards,
Mitch
Thank you Mitch. I think I need to do some research in order to find the right one for my leg.
I have mild CRPS in my right leg after an injury 3 years ago. I now deal with chronic pain as soon as I stand up and walk. The pain is heavy and dull, I've been through the burning and tingling sensations a couple of years ago. I just wondered if a machine might help ease the pain that I now have as soon as I put weight on my leg. My GP said to try one and see if it helps but I have wasted so much money on treatments over the past 3 years, none of which have helped the pain at all. I am now so desperate that I thought a TENS machine would be my next port of call.
