Gabapebtin

I have a few ongoing issues. The worst are excessive tiredness and bouts of constipation.. When I had a telephone consultation with my cardiologist he felt everything was due to Gabapebtin. Do others have the same issues?

I too am on gabapentin. I don't have your issues but I do find that Co-Cod.amol makes me terribly constipated. I have porridge with linseed in the morning and that seems to be the only thing that keeps me regular. I didn't realise gabapentin could cause tiredness but I have to say I am always extremely tired. I feel for you and hope you find some answers

Are you taking co-codamol Michael?I find that has caused me those issues over the years, Gabapentin, which was added years later, doesn't seem to give me any side effects at all, and I am on maximum dose.

I just have a good diet, with added fruit at night, have been advised to take sachets for constipation, but it has never been really bad and quite manageable overall.

Being diabetic doesn't help if I take my co-codamol meds and it coincides with eating, I can doze off if I really need to, and sometimes I just can't stop this 😕

Hi, Sorry you're having bother with constipation, it's horrible and can be really painful. I was suffering from constant constipation caused by digestion problems due to chronic pancreatitis. The doctor gave me dihydrocodeine which was good for pancreas pain but that made the constipation worse. Then I was also given Gabapentin for nerve pain but I really don't think it has made the constipation any worse. I've also been taking Lactulose twice a day and find it fantastic for dealing with the constipation. Maybe ask your doctor about it to help you deal with the problem until you find out exactly what is causing it.

Hi, my Hospital Consultant prescribed Fybogel for me. This can also be bought over the counter. All the best.

A wek ago I forgot my nightime Gabapebtin and had my best night's sleep this year. I tried missing it again a few nights later and has a dreadful night getting up at 2:00am for Gabapebtin and 4:00am for Oxycodone. Gabapentin is a rubbish drug.
