Hi. I'm sorry you're going through this pain and feeling alone. I know well how it feels not to be believed about your pain. It's difficult for people to imagine how it feels if they've never experienced it. Good luck to you. I hope the doctors take you seriously. It's hard, but we always have to keep advocating for ourselves, it's a thankless and tiring task. I hope you can find some relief.

Yes, don’t give up. Be your own advocate.

I have chronic pain due to fractured vertebrae and post herpetic neuralgia pain following shingles in January 2019 in my RH rib cage area front and back. I have recently read a number of books about neuroplastic pain. Two of the best IMO are “The Way Out” by Alan Gordon curablehealth.com and the curable app. Also “The Pain Habit” by Drew Coverdale thepainhabit.comThere is also the Pain Management Workbook by Rachel Zoffness. I am now working with the ideas to hopefully relieve the pain.

Hi Mort1960, you sound like its been many years of pain. Welcome to this site . I could tell you of many times of unbelieving onlookers as I call them. The registrar I just saw actually wrote it down in the records. I live with constant pain which impairs my mobility, so totally understand what you are saying. They work on the theory that if you can manage the pain can't be that bad. But in our cases pain is part of everyday life so we have to manage , adjust what we do maybe. but it does not take away the feeling of hopelessness or the treatment of no understanding. Or the understanding that everyones pain is different and impacts their life in different ways. The severity makes a difference too. I think we are very brave to live with constant pain and no prospect of releif only ways to manage it. Hope this helps you to see you are not alone with your thoughts about it.

Amen to all the aforementioned comments. No one truly understands the pain we're going through unless they've experienced it themselves. I've stopped even mentioning it to family cuz they don't seem to care or believe me. That's what used to hurt the most. Now I just count my blessings and try to find joy in each day. Good luck to you!
