So I go to the podiatrist, he says my shoes are still in great shape, and I don’t have to buy new running shoes. Then he puts a thicker cushion in the orthotics, which work on the day I got them, and the day after that maybe, but every day after that all I have felt is more rubbing against my feet, less cushioning, and my heel pain coming back. I don’t know what to do here: but new running shoes, or get a new orthotic? Something has to be done here. I want my foot pain to STOP. Well that has not been the case here. It has gone, but then it came back again.

Running shoes and orthotics not working???????????
Why don’t you speak to podiatrist who prescribed/changed orthotics. They should be made aware problems still exist.
i literally just week there a week ago, you want me to go there AGAIN?! i might be better off going to a peorthist or whatever they are called instead....................
Look I just gave you an opinion. You asked what you should do. If someone had recommended treatment to me and I wasn’t happy or it hadn’t worked I would go back to same person. Even possibly just phoning them to ask if should continue to persevere. If you want to do something different then that’s up to you.
and here i thought someone who understood the biomechanics of my feet for a living, could tell me why my runners and orthotics aren't working?! podiatrists understand foot biomechanics to an extent, but not as much as peorthists.
Ahh now I understand your comments and confusion. We are not professionals on this site but rather a mix of people who all have a variety of conditions that cause pain. We post on here to explore different ways of easing pain and then other people will recommend ways that have worked for them. And/or we sympathies and say how horrible severe pain is.
You won’t find a specialist dealing with feet on this site. But will find people such as Ritchie1268 who has similar experiences.
I wish you all the best in finding the answers you are seeking.
I have small fibre neuropathy and suffer painful feet when walking, as if I have pebbles in my shoes. I tried Skechers and Fitflops which helped, but I still suffered.
I don't run, so not sure if they do running shoes, but the best money I've ever spent is on a pair of Joya trainers. They really are like walking on clouds 4 months on and wearing every day.
Yes they're expensive but are so very worth it.
Having constant foot pain like yourself, Ive just bought some new orthopeadic shoes and they help but next time might try your suggested ones I'm also recovering from a broken foot so need a good safe shoe . Not worried about style just comfort from pain. THanks for info.
Ouch!
I am in a similar situation. New orthotics, new cushion and new shoes and returning foot pain regardless of what I wear on my feet. I would wake up in incredible pain. Both chiropodist and physiotherapist gave me exercises to do daily for my foot pain. The pain disappeared in a few days and only returns when I forget to do the exercises. I have to do them every day. Hope this helps you.
