Intercostal, Pec muscle pain

Hi

I picked up a suitcase in April that I didn’t realise was heavy as it was with my left arm and felt something which hurt like hell a few days later on my left chest above and below the nipple

Doc said it was probably pectoralis minor or intercostal muscle

Had physio who said it was probably pec so did 6 sessions and he discharged me. Pain went for a bit but then came back.

Now it’s December and I’m with another physio who says it’s intercostal as touching it deep hurts like hell. He said it’s rib 5 and 12 where the pain is

Has anyone else suffered intercostal muscle pain for this long in time
