Doxycycline is not my friend. Help!!!

5 days ago while at work, I was bitten by a tick on the back of my neck about 2 inches behind my left ear. I am a land surveyor so it's not that uncommon for me to find one on me every once in a blue moon and thankfully never had issues. However, about a day or two after this bite occurred, I started to feel just yuck. My neck was tight. My lymph node directly under my left ear was swollen really bad. Looked like I had big gum ball sticking out the side of my neck. I was running a low grade fever, very tired and exhausted feeling and extremely nauseated. Top it off with a tremendous migraine. Let me say this, I rarely ever get sick. So for me to even take off work to go to a Dr, was a big deal. I saw the Dr on day 4 after being bit. I was convinced I would be getting diagnosed with lyme disease. But no, my GP tells me I have a staff infection. Now, I didn't have the bulls eye rash about the bite but it was very itchy, tender to the touch and painful.

I am well familiar with staff because my girlfriend has had them in the past. But this does not seem like staff to me. The GP precribed me the doxycycline and I am not liking it at all. I have been strictly following the directions. as far as not lying down within 30 min of taking it I drink plenty of water with it. I am sure to take it with food but I'm getting a migraine every single time I take this medicine I get very nauseated, weak to the point I have to sit, afraid I may pass out. I don't know if I need to just suck it up and finish the script or call my GP about it. Can I please get some advise on this. I'm at a loss. I've never felt this way and it's starting to scare me a little. Thanks

Ive been on that med n it is very harsh BUT doesnt sound like the med for u,n ur symptoms.

I would def call ur gp or a hospital as lymes is nothing to mess with n def sounds like u need to be tested.

Fyi..lymes tests can come back false positives..its a tricky test with different answers.Best to u.

Oh..def take pics of ur bite, especially if it changes.
