I can’t use my hand coz I get a lot of pain

My finger I can’t feel them and it’s been like this for months

Have you spoken to a doctor? If you have lost feeling in a finger or several fingers you should really get proper medical attention for this.

Hi , Can you bbe a bit more specific... i.e. is it all of them, or some on one hand? Do you get any tingling sensation at all or pain in your arm/ elbow.? If it's just on one hand, I'm wondering if it's something to do with your wrist or elbow, maybe a forerunner of carpal tunnel or arthritis? I had a period of time where the 2 middle fingers on one hand were numb and then would go into a spasm and lock up... quite painful.

I mentioned it to the physio guy who I was seeing for a torn rotor cuff and he suggested this exercise;-

stretch out the arm in front of you with palm up, fingers pointing down, tip head back, so you get a full stretch. Then with the other hand,push your fingers down to stretch out the wrist. Afterwards stretch out the fingers as much as possible.... after a while the feeling came back in my fingers and they've never locked up since.

I do have arthritis in the wrist and often do the same exercise.

If that doesn't help at all, then best to mention it to to your Gp.

Hi. It sounds very much like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to me. I had both wrists operated on for it 37yrs ago and have had no problems with them since. Is it particularly bad at night? This is because when you relax your hands drop forward trapping the nerves in the wrists Your Dr should refer you for Nerve Conductancy tests which will either confirm or rule it out. The op is very easy, a day case. In fact I insisted that they did both of mine at the same time. I had a 10 month old baby and didn't want to be out of action twice. As it was I had the op's on the Thursday and was able to change nappies by the Saturday. Hope you find out what it is and get it sorted soon.
