Thoracic ruptured disc?

I woke up in the morning, took my pain medications as usual. After about an hour or 2, I felt a sharp sudden pain between my shoulder blade that forced me to hold my breath. Moving around, laying down or sitting is not helping reduce the pain. I dosed up on my nerve medication, because I can’t go to see doctors atm. I could try going to the e.r but I don’t know if I want to risk contracting the corona virus, and I’m not sure if the doctors can do anything for me right now. I might want to wait it out a little more and monitor the pain a little while longer. I have mild scoliosis and disc thinning. I’m scared that the vertebrae might be fusing together ? Has anyone went through this? I’m too stiff, and in pain in my upper back, it’s debilitating to say the least....

Ouch, that sounds really painful.

Is it possible that it is a muscle spasm pulling part of your spine out of place? If the pain continues then seeking medical attention is okay. I am not sure which country you are in, but if in the UK you can ring NHS 111 to get advice. hospitals, now that our governments are taking this seriously, are taking precautions, and there are far less people there. Some doctors are now worried that people with genuine problems are avoiding seeking medication attention when they should be.

That has happened to me a couple of times. The first time was a spontaneous fracture. I got the same pain in the last couple of months and was referred for a thoracic spine X ray. I turned it down as the appointment came through for this week and I don't want to go into a hospital and risk Covid-19. My pain management clinic is keen for me to have it checked asap as a fracture can cause paralysis but you will not get me near a hospital at the moment as that can cause death. I find lying on my side with my spine in the natural position helps the pain
