My lovely friend...we have known each other a very long time and shared much over the years.

Your GP seems to be a little bit useless! Go back to the surgery and ask to see or speak with another GP who specialises in your problems; most GPs have a speciality. Or get in touch with the pain clinic and ask who is taking over from your retired pain specialist. They don't usually only have one, (my own has two) so they will probably be passing patients on to either an existing specialist or replacement. They won't just leave you in limbo.

I am surprised your retiring pain specialist hasn't made provision for this. Usually patients are given information about what to do. It will be worth asking them rather than the GP.

I have been there too. I attempted suicide 2 times last year when my pain meds were stopped. It was an awful year. But on December 11th, 2019, I had a pain pump put in. I'm not up to a full therapeutic dose yet because they like to increase it slowly. But at least at this point, my sciatica pain is almost gone. I heard from someone in the UK say that they weren't doing them anymore in the UK. But it might be worth asking a pain management doctor.

Thank u all, I have been back to the doctors and I have seen a different doctor and she is trying to get me to the pain specialist in the Walton centre in Liverpool, but I will have to go on the waiting list which could be up to 6 or 12 months also I will know next week if I have got the big C.

Hope u all have a pain free day best wishes yogibe

I agree, you were abandoned. The retired pain specialist should have found another pain specialist for you or at least spoken with your GP about who she could consult with.

I’m curious, where do you live?

Do you have neuropathy?

Good luck. Sending you healing wishes.
