So frustrating

Hi everyone,I have been waiting nearly 7 weeks after a referral from my GP after a scan showed changes above and below my fusion c4c5 was sent to the Walton center Liverpool , I have rang them up twice the few weeks and be told that it is in triage , so today I rang up the hospital to be told they need to speak to my GP as to who I see either a neurologist or a neuro surgeon , how can my GP make that decision ,so she as had to say surgeon , can't they get their heads together and do that at the hospital end , has anyone had similar issues, so frustrating not what I need .

I am sorry to hear. Hospital sector is falling apart. Same applies in ireland. Hopefully you will get some answers.

Took me 6years to get a diagnosis of small fibre neuropathy

Google Dr Philip Morrish 's articles on Neurology services, postcode lottery and general fragmentation of the NHS etc tells it how it is.

The biggest source of stress 11years into this painful condition is managing NHS people and services. They largely seem clueless. I wrote a summary, one side A4 for a new GP, when I next saw her she asked me where the pain was and said she had no experience of it.

No surprise to me that cancer survival rates in the UK lag behind most of Europe. GP system not fit for purpose.

And I completely agree with what you say about GPS not all I might say , my old GP wouldn't back me every time I would go he would always say it's just another spanner in the works , when I was in retention I had been to hospital who just look at your notes and say you need to speak to your GP , the Same day I saw him before he started is surgery which I was thankful for , but he said you have been hospital what can I do I begged him to send me to another hospital , when I got there I was in retention I was catheterd I filled nearly s bucket up , I was like a dingy deflating , and for a yr they didn't know what was causing it , that's when I asked my new GP to send me to the Walton center Liverpool , the rest as they say is history , so all them years wasted now they can't do enough it shouldn't be like this for me or you or anyone .
