I've suffered for the last 15 or so years with my back, to the stage where I can barely walk at times. injections in my spine don't work & burning nerve endings back only gave slight relief for around a week.
From MRI scan my back specialist said "it's your spine & you have 5 worn out discs, - L2-3-5 & S1"
Because of a drug that very nearly killed me, I refuse to take pain relief now so I was wondering if anyone with similar problems had used an inversion table & do they help?
I asked at my pain clinic here in UK but the nurse specialist hadn't heard of it!?
Thank you

yes i have a conversion table and its a while since i'v used it. it did help me as when your lying almost upside down. ( you dont have to go all the way upside down until you have more confidence that you will be able to swing but up again) the thing is while your lying upside down your spine is lengthening and all the vertebrae are moving back into place. it does take up a lot of room and thats the reason i dont have it out much as i need someone to fold it back together and put it away for me. it causes deep
relaxation as well and i did find it amazing. im sure there is a place where you can hire those types of things out and if you didnt like it you could send it back or if you do like it then you'd be cheaper buying your own.i kept this advertismemt for years so god knows if they'r still in business. here is the number. its called fitness tracker.01236 767211 or look on gumtree to see if you can find one. i'd say its a great thing.hope this helps im sorry about the spelling mistakes. love grace xoxo
That's brilliant Grace thank you! And I'm glad it helped you!!
I've been looking for a few weeks but there are so many different models etc. Think I'll just try get a cheap second hand one as I suppose they all do the same once you're virtually upside down 😁
mines is right at the back of a large cupboard its called health something. next time my boy friend is up i will ask him to have a look and drag all the rubbish out the cupboard. it cost £140 or there abouts but it really is worth it not just for pain relief but the relaxation is great. its a bit like doing yoga and standing on your back. many people like myself buy those things and then dont use them for long as soon as the pain goes. im of a nervouse disposition and want someone in the house while im using it and it does take up a bit of room. i'v got a spare bedroom which im thinking of making into a gym. i may get it out them i have a pilates reformer in the room which i do use. i do exercise too but at the moment im so down with depression im not doing much at all. im sure it will pass. i hope you get your conversion table. which town do you live in and i shall look out for you at the sales on gum tree and also phone that number. all the very best to you. pain is certainly no fun. i know that as i suffered from it for years with sciatica. wishing you well dear. love grace xoxoxo you can always get those things and try them out and change your mind up to 30 days if you pay by credit card.
My Dr years ago put me on a drug called Oxycontin, which I later, when it was way too late realised it was actually stronger than Heroin! It's why there is a big problem in America with opioid/Heroin abuse & the manufacturer of this drug, Purdue Pharma have been found 700 million dollars to date for lying about it.
Because I've been free from it now 4 years August 15th 2019, it totally destroyed my life for 12 years that I was on it.
I lost everything after having a great career.
Even though I now refuse medication due to what happened, I'm determined to get my life back.
Due to this drug, last year I was diagnosed with Pernicious Anemia which is late stages of a B12 deficiency which Heroin addicts get, which causes degeneration of the spinal chord & nerve damage.
I could write a book 😁
Thank you so very much for your help Grace, I will definitely get a table!
Good luck to you & I really do wish you well, you're an amazing caring person, remember that. Thank you so much, you don't know how much your replies have helped me!
I have a very inexpensive one $65 so no bells and whistles and as some else says they do take up a lot of room so I have mine permanently set up in the garage. I do use it as a last resort and it does help when none of the exercises i do get rid of the pain. I don't go all the way to vertical more like 45 degrees and I still get a stretch which eases my back and hip pain.
I've seen the teeter tables that are really expensive but, it seems to me that once you're partially inverted I don't think it matters how, just as long as it's doing what it's supposed to do.
Thank you grace. Im watching one now that ends tomorrow 👍xx
Hey Ritchie1268... haven't seen any posts from u in awhile. Sorry to hear ur still struggling with your back problems and etc. My only thought on the inversion table is this... u may want to just consult a really qualified chiropractor and get there thoughts on the table. I was told that it pools blood where it shouldn't in ur body. Don't need more problems ! Best to u...
