Does anyone relate to this, 2 years ago I was suffering from major sniexty issues. Since then my medication has made me gain over 2.5 stones. Although I have injuries and have suffered intensive pain, this had become almost unbearable... could weight gain have such a impact on my joints .....
any advice would be well received

I'm on Pregabalin and I am currently cutting down on the dose due to weight gain. I have gained about 4 kilos but it's all gone onto my stomach. Can't you change back to Amitriptyline.
That what I have requested a few times now ... I have been told that gapepentine is safer god knows why .... I take anti anxiety and antidepressants .... but there reasons are good enough.... hoping she will see sense and prescribe Amitriptyline again..... I can’t cope with the pain and restrictions of movement 9/10 ridiculous... she mentioned pain clinic .... let’s see what she dishes up this week .....
Everything you are saying makes sense and your doctor sounds like a complete idiot. She should know that gaining 2 and a half stone is really bad for you're health, not to mention the extra strain it's putting on you're joints and increasing you're pain. Can you just change doctors? I live in Australia and we can go to any doctor we like. I have my main GP and 2 others that I go to if I just need scripts and don't want to wait. There is also not a big emphasis on pain clinics over here. I went to a pain clinic but I had to ask my GP for a referral. I only went twice because I didn't find it helpful but I really hope it helps you.
I would try to change doctors. one would think your doctor would want you to be healthier and that is a significant amount of weight gain. when I received my avn of the hip diagnosis I immediately started watching what I ate and even though I've only lost a little, I can tell the difference on my bad pain days. if you go through a gp maybe they can refer you to someone else or you could find a doctor with good reviews online and call them to see what's needed to see them.
