Has anyone ever been diagnosed with nerve damage after giving birth (failed epidurals)?

I'm wondering if anyone has ever got a definitive diagnosis of nerve damage after failed epidurals? I had 2 failed ones and eventually a spinal was given to me ...I ended up being in hospital for 17 days after giving birth because of the severe pain in my spine...I'm 6 months postnatal and I'm still in absolute agony every day... I've had scans that show no bone damage and I've just been given codine to take....these have no effect on the pain and just cause constipation that adds to the pain ...I'm really at the end of my tether ...trying to look after a baby and manage this pain.
