I have been Pregabalin since 28th August, I am shocked at the sight of my face, it has gone moon-faced. I weighed myself and realized I have put on nearly half a stone.
Also, I am feely very wobbly, and a bit 'not quite with it'. Has anyone felt the same, and should I come off it? I am only five foot, so cannot afford to put on loads of weight. I am taking the tablets for pain.

Hi shorkie I took pregablin for 7 weeks I had to stop as the side effects are pretty overwhelming, I've had poor vision, brain fog, confusion, paranoia, jumpiness, hate loud or sudden noise, sweat's,no sleep just feel a mess it has to be the pregabs so I've read on here I'm not saying CT them as I'm still suffering it's been just a week off them at first I thought I had some Weird illness now I know it's them never again(hope this helps a bit)
Lady on fibro site was allergic reaction as if drunk irritated eyes and something else I can't mind what just last night.I've heard some people say they put some weight on to.
Well Shorkie that sounds like maybe drug side effects, so I would try without the drugs and if symptoms persist then go back to GP as that might not be the problem. You can always ask for different pain killers if its the Pregabalin. Good luck
I was going to say that it could be the medicine check with your doctor to see what the side effects are and let him know when your getting off of them and it will probably take more than a week and you may have to get off of them slowly that’s how I had to get off of one of the medicines I was on. Good luck.
Hi I took this 2 years ago and put on half a stone in a week and just felt numb all over. I stopped taking it as didnt like the side effects
Hi Shorkie, I have been on Pregabalin since about last year September. I put on about 5 or 6 kilo’s and at first felt really woozy. I never put on any more and the feeling of wooziness passed. I take 600mg a day and dihydrocodeine as well. It’s been really helpful in helping to cope with the horrendous nerve pain. If you just are careful with your diet you won’t put on anymore and you might even loose some. Not sure what kind of pain you have but pregabalin (and gabapentin) do seem to be the best for referred nerve pain. If that is not your pain maybe something else can help?
The first few weeks I felt awful very woozy, lethargic no energy and couldn't put any thought processes together but it brought down the terrible burning, shooting pains several notches so I stuck with it. Eventually these bad side effects decreased and all it gives me nothing now but a bearable slight headache. I did notice my taste buds seemed to change from savoury to sweet so if I wasn't firm with myself I felt I could have out in alot of weight easily.x
I HAVE BEEN ON GABAPENTIN NOW FOR YEARS SINCE MY SPINAL OPS X3 IT MADE ME LOOK THE SAME AND THE WEIGHT IVE PUT ON IS UNBELIEVABLE Im ONLY 5'2 ISH AND I CAN FEEL THE DIFFERENCE WEN I TRY TO WALK ITS JUST HORRIBLE !!!!
I LOST ALL THE BONE THAT HELD MY TEETH AND I AM POSITIVE IT'S BECAUSE OF THEM SO BE CAREFUL... I'VE HAD MINE ALL OUT AT 43 HATE THE FALSE TEETH THEY ARE SO ALIEN 👽 IN MY MOUTH SO PLEASE DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN TO YOU... IT MAKES ME FEEL DRUNK AND NO BALANCE IT'S HORRIBLE DRUG GABAPENTIN ARE THE SAME... TRY TO GET YOUR MEDS CHANGED HUN XX
Yes, similar side effects to you on pregabalin, if any side effects become too much you should speak to your doctor about a change of meds. Any medication that is an opioid derivative will have an effect on cognitive ability, but this will usually fade over time.
