Heart rate is high and feels like it skipped a beat

I'm not sure if this is something to be concerned about but I don't want to go to the doctor if this is just a coincidence. I'll try to explain situations that could be involved.

For at least a month I've felt like my heart has skipped a beat. Almost like when you get startled by something, but it is a very faint sensation. This happens maybe once a day or two. It could be happening more often but I can't always tell because it isnt very noticeable.

3 days ago my middle finger on my right hand was cramping as though my blood was struggling to get through the vein. I could feel each pulse and it'd do it for about 4 beats and then it'd stop but it would do it again and it contunued for a couple of hours. It hasn't happened for the past few days.

This morning my thumb on my right hand did the same thing but stopped fairly quickly. And just now it happened on my underside of my right forcep almost to the elbow.

But the main concerning thing is that my heart rate, just a half hour ago, was fluctuating between 110-122 bpm. I was doing nothing but lying on my right side on the couch and had not been doing anything for at least half an hour. It felt as if I had just run up the stars. I could feel my heart pumping very clearly. Then I got up to see if it'd feel better. My heart rate increased quickly to 140 bpm and I felt light headed, weak, shaky, and pretty breathless. It felt as if I had just run up 5 flights of stairs. Over the course of 5 minutes I was able to regain my breathe and I decided to lie down. My heart rate is now fluctuating between 100-110 bpm and has been for the past half hour. It doesn't feel normal but I could have just given myself a panic attack from worrying too much about it. It is possible I am dehydrated but I am not sure.

See your GP. Get BP checked and let him know what you have said here.

When you feel your heart going too fast try pinching your nose and blow through your nostrils. Do this several times if needed and hopefully it should set your heart back to a natural rythem . But make sure you see your docter so that they can find the cause.

Make sure you drink lots of water, dehydration makes it worse. If it doesn't go away make an appointment with your gp.

Please see your GP. Palpitations could be caused by any number of reasons. Make an appointment now to see your GP

See your doctor. This could be nothing, or it could be atrial fibrillation (which is common in over 40s I believe). Anyway, I'm not a doctor but I feel this is something that needs properly looked into. Hope it gets sorted.

Take care.

Please go and get checked out. This could be early signs of a stoke

Hi guys. Went to the doctor and they figured out I have PVC: Premature ventricular contractions. It's nothing to be worried about, thankfully.

Were you having a panic attack when you saw your heart rate go up . This has happened to me during a panic attack I look at my apple watch and saw my heart rate go up a little bit and began to panic And then that caused it to go up even more . Still make sure you see your doctor or go to the nearest urgent care they do the ecg fast and it will help see if you have any abnormal arrhythmia or damage going on . Please don’t worry or put too much stress on yourself . I’m sure your fine . Good luck ! :)
