Hi Jo- sciatica may cause pain in the hips - but then continues down the leg - usually on outside - as far as the foot in extreme cases. I've never heard of it affecting the abdomen- unless you are tensing up from the pain.

Have you actually been diagnosed with sciatica?

It's basically a back injury- L2/L3 pinched nerve.

There are many conditions affecting bum and tummy- you really should go to a doctor to get it checked out for real.

Hi jo I have been suffering with the same pain as you it is my hip ' back , leg and in the side of my abdomen if that makes any sense . I have been diagnosed with crps and multiple degeneration of my lower spine , also going through elimination for fibromyalgia. I'm on high dosages of morphine, naproxen, setraline, liquid morphine and 3 weeks ago I was taken off gabapentin 1200mg per day and put on prebagablin .

I've had quite a rough ride these last 3 weeks with the change in meds my sleep pattern has got worse and so has my pain and depression. I'm at a very dark place at the moment just not knowing what tò do with myself. I really wish I could find some relief.

I read you're post and had to reply,i've been in this dark place you are currently in and it is a living hell.I suffered for 24 yrs being told that surgery was out of the question, that was up until about 10 months ago when i was referred to a neurosurgeon at the Spinal Unit in SCGH in Perth ,Australia. He took one look at my latest MRI and agreed to operate.I had my op about 5 months ago,i am a new person.I walked out 48hrs after my surgery,i never dreamed i would have this second chance and my surgeons are amazed at my recovery.I can only hope you find relief in some way, any way.My story was posted a while ago,i did post most of what was done in my surgery if you were interested in what my problem was and whar they operated on.I have been were you are and i sympathize whole heartedly,i hope and pray for relief for you.Keep ur chin up Manditts.

You're not alone. I've just found this forum, so feel can't give advice, but I feel much better to know there are other like me. it's just that we suffer alone and soldier on. You sound very low-take care.
