For the past 1-2 months I've had swelling in my feet, ankles and up calves(at times real hard feeling, warm to touch, throbbing, and at times the leg is so much worse), not overweight, on a mega low salt diet, doesn't help too elevate them, any length of walking they will go down, yet the feel of swelling is still there, and swells even more when I take my shoe off then they swell even more (have one this off and on for mega years but it is beginning to get real bad because no matter what I do nothing is helping)...On Thyroid medicine, blood pressure medicine and others no water medicine....here is some blood work: GFR @48.00; Bun Cret @ 13.79; Album/Goblin @ 1.00; Total Protein @ 6.6; Total Bil @ 0.35; Albumin @ 3.3; Creat level @ 1.16; AST/SCOTT @ 18; ALT/SGPT @ 12 and there are others if need..........................I worry about Kidney and Liver Issues due to the low grade Bladder Cancer, Thyroid Issues, C.O.P.D.; and now even looking at neck surgery to repair nerve/tendon issues on the left side of neck............................................................................Can the swelling be related to any of this and what if PC lady just doesn't care because no signs of blot clots............Any advice will be greatly appreciated and looked into...Thanks in advance...............................

Hi, I have several conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis fibromyalgia coeliac and degenerating bone disease.. My spine is crumbling however my foot and shin have been giving me a lot of pain, swelling, heat etc similar to you my GP thinks I have osteomyelitis as along with other symptoms I have a very low pulse in my foot plus it was freezing but my lower shin & calf were warm. Your symptoms sound similar to mine so I suggest you go back to your docs and ask them about it. Tests are simple x ray, dopplar test and possibly blood tests and if tests show infection it's a biopsy as can lead to gangrene and amputation if left untreated. So I'm still coming to terms with my diagnosis and I would hate for someone to leave it and it turn really serious. Treatment is antibiotics for few months so even if it's not that at least it's ruled out.

When I had tests ran on my legs the nerves and muscles show good, on a mega low (only below 500 mg) of sodium (summer time I do mega fruit and veg. so yes, less sodium.......and no blood clots........at least my hands and eyes are not swelling yet like years ago...........................
