we are always being told that our health departments struggle for money ,i dont know if anyone else has had this but i joined the smart heart clinic at my surgery, nearly 20 years ago this mean every six months a blood test and then see the nurse, up to three years ago my nurse was fran we would have a chat say my bloods were fine and that was it then the new nurse only said one thing your obese and need to loose weight now i am not slim and at 5ft will always look chubby ,i am a dog walker, ran a pub ,non smoker and not a drinker so now at 64years old have been fighting with my doctors that something was wrong with me and its taken me nine months to find i have heart disease so was all those check ups a waste of money it was me who knew something was wrong . and me who kept on visiting my dr , the smart heart didn't help or realise i was ill

Looking through your posts, if I were you I would ask for them, in particular - Thyroid Antibodies TPO and Tg also Free T3, Free T4 and TSH. If you look at the list of symptoms of Underactive Thyroid /Hypothyroidism on Thyroid UK to see how many you have. You could also ask your GP to test nutrients levels of:

Vitamin D

B12

Folate and

Ferritin. Also look up symptoms of deficiencies in each of these on NHS choices. Diverticular disease as well as Hypothyroidism can cause absorption issues, so even if we eat well our nutrients levels can be low.

Am I correct in assuming that your husband is still on medication?

I also sent you a private message.

Xx

No I Don,t think it was a waste of money though they they could have done more. Why didn't,t the doctor catch it.what kind of test did they do all that time,I think it was more the Dr's fault it was,NT caught sooner. Usually blood work will show if there's something wrong. With your heart. I hope you get to feeling better best o luck. Susiejo1948
